About Us
At Luce Tooth Pediatric Dentistry, it is our top priority to provide the highest quality pediatric dental care to your child in a modern, inviting, comfortable, and fun setting! Our new Seminole office has video games, large over-chair TVs with wireless headphones, prize towers, and a super special photo wall to show off that sparkling smile. Our goal is to help each child achieve a smile that will last a lifetime.
Dr. Luce is a St. Pete native, and she is honored to be able to help the children of this area! As a wife and husband team, Dr. Luce and Dr. Scheps share the same practice philosophy of providing a caring, non-rushed, and individualized approach to every visit so that you and your child feel comfortable and have a great experience. We take the time to explain (and show you) how your child’s teeth are looking and developing and to discuss the findings just as if you were a part of our family!

Our Vision: To establish Luce Tooth as the premier pediatric dental practice in Seminole and St. Pete by constantly evolving, improving, and giving back to the children of our community.
OUR PHILOSOPHY:
Luce Tooth Pediatric Dentistry was founded by a husband and wife team of Board Certified Pediatric Dentists – Dr. Amy Luce and Dr. Aaron Scheps. We strive to be the premier Pediatric Dental Office in Seminole and St. Pete by following a philosophy of providing a caring, non-rushed and individualized approach to every family we meet. Our team works hard to make sure that every family feels welcomed and listened to, and that they receive dental education in a manner that empowers them to make a treatment decision that is right for their child.
It is our top priority to provide the highest quality pediatric dental care to your child in a modern, inviting, comfortable and fun setting! Our newly remodeled Seminole office has video games, large over-chair TVs with wireless headphones, prize towers and a super special photo wall to show off that sparkling smile. Our St. Pete office has a big screen TV, tablets and handheld games to make the dentist a fun experience! Our goal is to help each child achieve a smile that will last a lifetime.
WE LOVE OUR DOCTORS!:
Dr. Luce and Dr. Scheps met at the University of Florida Pediatric Dentistry Residency program. She was finishing residency as he was starting. It just so happened that Dr. Luce’s residency year was the first that was extended from 24 months to 25 months allowing for a 1 month overlap of the residents that were graduating and the ones just beginning. What a difference 1 month can make! Many years later they still live life in the moment and take it a month at a time, which is especially helpful with their little baby girl and a miniature dachshund that keep them on their toes!
DR. LUCE:
Dr. Amy Luce is a St. Pete native, growing up in Seminole, FL and attending the IB program at St. Pete High School. She is honored to be able to help the children of the area she grew up in and still lives. After high school she attended college at Stetson, and both dental school and pediatric dentistry residency at the University of Florida. In addition to being Chief Resident of her Pediatric Dental Program, during her time there she also won two prestigious awards: The Ralph E. McDonald Research Award and the Richard C. Pugh Award which is given to residents scoring in the Top 3% of their Board Exam.
Dr. Luce’s practice style is warm, genuine, thorough, with a whole lot of sparkle! Her spirit animal is undoubtedly a unicorn, and she isn’t happy unless all of her patient’s teeth are shiny when they leave!
DR. SCHEPS:
Dr. Aaron Scheps grew up in Richmond, VA and attended Virginia Commonwealth University for both college and dental school. Upon graduation he entered the United States Air Force and was chosen to complete a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. He graduated first in his class, and then spent several years serving overseas as a dentist in the Air Force treating many children. This experience confirmed his desire to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry at UF.
He followed in many of the footsteps of Dr. Luce during residency: Also being elected as Chief Resident and finishing in the Top 3% of his Board Exam, earning the Richard C. Pugh award.
While Dr. Scheps loves all aspects of pediatric dentistry, he has a passion and extensive knowledge and training in diagnosing and treating infants, children and adolescents with lip- and tongue-ties. In addition to over 10 years of experience treating thousands of ties, he also has the experience of completing a release on his own daughter. This has given him real world experience and empathy for the intricacies of the healing process in an infant and allows him to better advise his families.
Besides helping babies grow and thrive, he also has a special level of patience and understanding for children with special needs. He has designed a program focused
on helping patients with sensory processing disorders or high anxiety break through the challenges of a routine dental visit. This program, combined with his ability to help struggling infants succeed in feeding earned him the title of Top 40 Dentists Under 40 in 2021.
We are so lucky to have two REALLY GREAT and CARING dentists on our team. Give us a call today to schedule your visit with them!
